SATU Atelier was founded in 2012 with a singular purpose: to dissolve the boundaries between design vision and physical reality. What began as a dialogue between Italian design sensibility and Southeast Asian craftsmanship has grown into something far more complete — a fully integrated atelier with the capacity to realise any interior, anywhere, without compromise.

Our name, satu — the Indonesian word for "one" — speaks to the philosophy that drives us. One relationship. One standard. One complete solution from architectural stone to bespoke furniture. We operate galleries, factories, studios and workshops across eight locations — Milan to Bali, Guangzhou to Dubai — so that the distance between concept and delivery is never an obstacle. Milan is the axis around which the global furniture and interiors industry revolves. Home to the Salone del Mobile — the world's most important design fair — and flanked by the Brianza district, the traditional heartland of Italian furniture manufacturing, there is no better city in which to anchor a design atelier of ambition.

SATU's Milan gallery is where design thinking begins: immersed in a culture where beauty is a discipline, proportion a language, and the distinction between function and art has always been a false one. Italian design is not an aesthetic — it is a philosophy. It is the belief that every object in a room should earn its place, and that the room itself should feel inevitable. That conviction is the seed of everything we make.

Jepara, on the north coast of Java, has been the world capital of fine wood carving for centuries. The skill passes from generation to generation — hands that know teak and mahogany the way a musician knows their instrument. It is here that SATU's bespoke furniture workshop breathes life into every design that leaves Milan.

In Guangzhou and Foshan, we oversee precision manufacturing facilities capable of producing to the exacting tolerances that luxury interiors demand — stone fabrication, metalwork, upholstery and cabinetry at a scale and consistency that no single workshop could match. Twelve years of careful curation means we work only with factories that share our refusal to cut corners.
